Character explanations:

1. PacMan- Pacman has been turned into his ball form instead of his Pac Land form. This is because I think Pac Land is way too niche for smash, and its presence stops PacMan from being his main, and most iconic, form.

2. Funky Kong- He is an echo of Donkey Kong which is faster, has way less start up, but much less kill power.

3. Raichu- I cut Pichu, so I thought it could be cool to have a Raichu with Pikachu's alts from Ultimate, and a Pikachu with Pichu's alts, to imply that the Ultimate pokemon had evolved between games. I went with the Alolan variant instead of the normal one because then you get surfboard and psychic moves instead of just being a heavier Pikachu. Regular Raichu also doesn't work as an echo because the tail is too long, meaning the hitboxes and attacks don't align.

4. Gooey- Gooey is an echo of Kirby. The hitboxes should align properly aside from the feet which wouldn't be hard to remove. The moves hit, and hurt boxes could also probably be fudged with tounge animations, similar to how Dark Samus has the same moveset but cooler animations. I included Gooey to represent the Dark Matter Trilogy because that would be the only Kirby era not represented so may as well include it in the form of an echo.

5. Octoling- Pretty self explanatory. Echo fighter of inkling. The concern over ink colours doesn't apply because you can use octarian and side order colours to get a full set of alts. (Feel free to check and disagree)

6. Tom Nook- I like the idea of a character that functions like Lucario's aura but by actually being agressive instead of getting hit. Tom Nook would have a number near his percentage of bells, and certain moves and actions would increase his bells. These would then make stuff like his smash attacks (which would be swinging a bag of money) bigger and more damaging.

7. Doom Guy- Kinda like inkling, in that he's a rushdown character with zoning tools. I wanna ramp up the aggression as much as humanly possible though. He's highly requested, he got a Mii outfit, Doom 64, I think he works.

8. The Prince- I just really liked PDMGs video on him, and We Love Katamari is one of my favorite games. Also, I cut Kazuya because too many fighting game characters, so I assume Namco would want some rep if they are helping development. Also Katamari is on the switch now

9. Tails- Sonic is underrepresented, and I really like air fighters.

10. Diddy & Dixie- I wanted Dixie Kong, but I feel she works better in an Ice Climers style duo compared to on her own, because Donkey Kong Country has two characters, one tailing the other, who can swap and I don't see much potential in her on her own. Also, I cut Ice Climbers but I like their archetype.

11. Knuckles- He feels most suited for a smash moveset out of all the main Sonic characters, and by adding him you get the main 3, making the representation feel complete.

12. Blaziken- I view Pokemon in Smash as a revolving door so I initially cut Incineroar, especially given he's the least popular smash character, but then I kept Greninja because he's the most popular pokemon, and added Meowscarada because she's the most recent and realised I was really close to all 3 types so I added Blaziken as a Falcon clone.

13. Kraid- Ridley and Kraid go together in my mind because Metroid 1, and also I like the idea of having a super big and heavy character. Go see FeliciaFans video on it, it's really good

14. Twintelle- She is the fan favorite of Arms, and she'd have a better moveset than MinMin because she is a lot more mobile and is more about trapping the opponent than just straight up zoning them, meaning she wouldn't be as spammy or annoying. I also wanna push Arms because it's one of Nintendo's few new IPs

15. Erdrick- I just didn't want to have to draw a bunch of sprites for the other Dragonquest protags, just pretend they're there.

16. Eggman- To me he's the biggest missing villain in Smash, and I took Bowser Jr out of the clown car to make him play more like a Koopaling so there's a vaccum to fill.

17. Toad- Don't have particularly strong opinions on this one, other than making him play like New Soup

18. Sprigatito-  Newest Pokemon starter, magician moveset  which would be built around tricking and confusing the opponent which is a new thing, grass type, I lowkey think Meowscarada would be sick.

19. Skull Kid- I cut Sora, because Disney, and he was my main, so I wanted a new floaty magic character. Also, then you get more non triforce Zelda rep.

20. Bandanna Dee- Biggest missing Kirby character, and his kit in the Kirby games is really fun so I added him.

21. Raven Beak- Not as big on him compared to Kraid, but Dread was really big and he was really cool in it. Also, then we get a Chozo in Smash.

22. Chun Li- You add her and then you've got all the major World Warriors, also she'd be the first non Shoto fighting game character other than MinMin, who doesn't really count, in Smash.

23. Arle- Puyo Puyo is really big and I wanted a puzzle game character. Arle would focus on stage control and zoning. Also, one move idea that I thought of and like is that she would have the ability to drop a Puyo from the top of the screen. This would have a hitbox below it, but only when falling. The thing is, when it hits the stage it wouldn't immediately despawn, it'd just kinda stay there. The cool part would be that it would function like a Puyo in Puyo Puyo meaning you could make chains meaning Puyos all over the screen would start falling, which would mean the falling hitboxes would reappear leading to cool setups for combos and traps and stuff.

24. Waluigi- This is a moveset for a Mario Kart bike rather than Waluigi himself because I don't think he really works. He would be very fast, and would use tricks and items for attacks and stuff

25. Ganon- I like heavies and Ganon is the second biggest Zelda villain. He'd be like Bowser if he was a swordie which would be new for the series because the big guys are typically grapplers.

26. Magolor- He's been growing a lot in the Kirby series and has a cool moveset in Return to Dreamland Deluxe. Also I want more modern Kirby beyond just Bandanna Dee

27. Tetromino- My fav wtf pick, especially given how close to Nintendo Tetris has been.

28. Paper Mario- I wanted a paper mario rep

29. Vaati- Biggest recurring non Ganon Zelda villain, also I wanted to represent the toon artstyle because I cut Toon Link.

30. Bulborb- Pikmins been growing, and I thought a bulborb would be funny. Especially given none of the captains would be that different to Olimar, and the Grubdog family has enough there to make a full grappler moveset.

31. Alear- I cut fire emblem pretty heavily, but Alear has the ability to use the cut Fire Emblem characters so I think that makes up for it. Also, Engage was the most recent game.

32. Frisk (The Human because Toby said so)- Indies deserve a rep, and while most would say Shovel Knight because it has an assist trophy and an Amiibo, I think Frisk is more likely because of how close Toby Fox has been getting to Nintendo, like the time he won Sans' Mii costume and put The Baby Is You in Pokemon. In terms of which development team is closer to Smash, I'd say it's Toby by far.

33. Dante- Very highly requested, and Devil May Cry combat is like crack. Also, it allows Devil May Cry and Bayonetta to cross over.

34. Yu Naruakmi (Hero because of the intro to P4G, and the fact the Mii costume is called Persona 4 protagonist)- I went with Yu over Joker because I wanted a more conventional Persona protagonist, and I much prefer Yu over Makoto.

35. Geno- Mario RPG Remake is probably enough to tip him into being playable, since he's been on the fence for a while now, and a lot of people want him.

36. Impa- Important zelda character with a ninja moveset. Yes please.

37. Rex- He would have been in Smash Ultimate but he was too complicated. I'm assuming with the extra development time a new game would provide, he'd be fine. Also then you get all 3 Xenoblades.

38. Mona- I really don't want Ashley, but I want more Warioware. She'd be a rushdown character with cool mixups with the boomerang.

39. Andy- Character who builds turrets and stuff sounds cool, also Advanced Wars isn't repped.

40. Billy Lee- Double Dragon is strongly tied to the NES, and there aren't any beat em up characters in Smash. I like the idea of him being able to pick up weapons with his down special which act like items

41. Phoenix Wright- MVC3 shows it's doable, and also the entire series up until the remakes were Nintendo exclusives. Also, then we get some visual novel rep. I made this before Emio, so idk if he'd work better or be more likely.

42. Jibanyan- Yokai Watch is Pokemon's Sonic, down to the rival series struggling hard in the modern age. If you can add a rival series, I think you should.

43. King Boo- I wanted a second Luigis Mansion rep, and I also cut Jigglypuff and I think he'd play similar. He's a good rival for Luigi as well, even though I'm not really going for the whole rivals thing.

44. Fawful- Mario and Luigi's most iconic antagonist, and by adding him I cover all the Mario RPGs except Rabbids.

45. Team Rocket Grunt- A moveset I've wanted for a while is a Smash character who fights alongside pokemon, rather than the pokemon themselves being their own moveset. For instance the forward smash could be the trainer summoning an Arbok that swings its head forward, or its jab could be summoning a Ratata which rapidly scratches forward, or its up special could be being pulled up by drifloon. The alts are why I didn't just make it Giovani

46. Takumaru- Retro pick, and I want more swordies

47. Mio- This way I get a protag from every Xenoblade game. Mio is the more interesting of the two in my opinion, and I like her weird circle blades.

48. Giegue- I cut Lucas, so I want more Earthbound rep, and I also want it to represent all regions so I went with the villain of the first two games. He'd be very oppressive and good at limiting your options. An idea for his neutral special is that it shoots a red ring of evil energy that does a random effect to simulate not being able to percieve the true form of Giygas' attack

49. Karate Joe- Rhythm Heaven desereves rep, and having a rhythm themed character where your attacks do more damage when lined up with the background music sounds fun. Also, Karate Joe makes way more sense than the chorus kids.

50. Ring Fit Adventurer- Ring Fit did weirdly well, and I think the character fits Smash pretty well.

51. Jimmy Lee- Double Dragons main thing is multiplayer, so it feels weird having Billy but not Jimmy. Jimmy also works well as an echo because of Double Dragon Gaiden making him more damage focused compared to the defense focused Billy. The two are similar to the point I doubt implementing an echo would be that big of a problem.

52. Arthur- Ghosts and Goblins is one of the titles I associate most with the snes, and I liked him in MVC3

53. Alucard- I swapped Simon and Richter for him because he's the character people associate most with Castlevania, and also he's in both Castlevania anime which is peoples main exposure to the series nowadays. He may be more associated with other companies, but the same can be said for Joker.

54. Dark Lord- I like Miitopia, and I also like the idea of a heavy air fighter.

55. Mii Athlete- The thing Miis are most known for are sports games, so I think they'd probably add this. I like the idea of a new Mii fighter, and I also like one representing the Miis themselves instead of being weird Mario/Samus/Link.

56. Ditto- Darkstalkers style mirror match character

57. X Parasite- Shadow from Darkstalkers

58. Dark Matter- Random character for each stock (or a better idea if I come up with one)
